High Temperature Fibre & Refractory Insulation Solutions for Aluminium/Non-Ferrous

The Thermal Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials provides high temperature fibre, refractory and microporous insulation products for thermal management in demanding high temperature environments. Our engineered solutions are used extensively in primary and secondary processing of aluminium and other non-ferrous metals to improve productivity, reliability and energy efficiency.

Our market leading low biopersistence high-temperature thermal insulating fibre material Superwool® is favoured by the aluminium industry because of its excellent thermal performance and resistance to aluminium wetting.  We use Superwool to make insulation products such as: 

  • Boards and shapes that are flexible and rigid to support applications such as sleeves, cones, ladles, and launders
  • Fired refractory tubing for heat treating applications
  • Caster tips; twin-roll, thin-strip caster 

Our WDS® Ultra and WDS® Flexipor Microporous insulation products are ideal for insulation of the aluminium melting furnace and when the need to increase volume in transfer or poring ladles is required.
